Abstract

This address of the Secretary of the Dicastery for Culture and Education reflects on the implications of the Synod on Synodality for theological work and ministry in Asia. Drawing from the biblical narratives of Emmaus and the apostolic assembly in Jerusalem, it highlights four movements essential to synodal theology: movement, encounter, conflict, and agreement. The address emphasizes dialogue, openness to cultural and religious diversity, and interdisciplinary engagement as vital for theological reflection. Inspired by the vision of Pope Francis, it calls theologians to practice a synodal, dialogical, and missionary theology attentive to contemporary social and cultural realities.
