Aims & Scope

Loyola Papers provides a platform for emerging theologians to share scholarly research, creative theological insights, and critical reflections on contemporary issues in Church and society. In line with this vision, Loyola Papers aims to:

  • Encourage the scholarly development of students and alumni, supporting rigorous, reflective, and pastorally relevant research;
  • Promote dialogue between faith and contemporary cultural, social, and ecclesial realities in the Philippines, Asia, and beyond;
  • Foster the emergence of new theological voices capable of contributing to academic, pastoral, and societal conversations;
  • Provide a peer-reviewed forum where creative and contextually informed scholarship can be shared with a broader audience.

The journal welcomes original, unpublished contributions in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Biblical theology and exegesis;
  • Systematic theology, liturgy, and moral theology;
  • Spirituality, pastoral theology, and religious education;
  • Pastoral psychology and counseling, and family ministry;
  • Social ethics and the Church’s engagement with society;
  • Missiology, evangelization, and interreligious dialogue;
  • Contextual theologies from the Philippines, Asia, and other lived realities;
  • Intercultural, interdisciplinary, and socially engaged theological research.
