Abstract

This article offers an exegetical analysis of Revelation 11:19–12:6, a passage interpreted in Catholic tradition as referring to the Blessed Virgin Mary while also understood by some scholars as symbolizing the Church. The study compares various scholarly interpretations and examines related biblical passages to evaluate the Marian reading of the text. It also draws upon patristic sources, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and contemporary theological reflections, including those of Pope Benedict XVI and Bishop Robert Barron, to support the interpretation of Mary as the New Ark of the Covenant.
