Abstract

This article explores the healing dimension of the Synod on Synodality and its call for a paradigm shift in the Church’s self-understanding and pastoral practice. Drawing on the Johannine narrative of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well, the author reflects on how the Church can acknowledge its own brokenness and experience healing through openness, dialogue, and encounter. The study highlights Jesus’ welcoming approach as a model for engaging those who feel excluded or marginalized, emphasizing attitudes that foster trust, self-disclosure, and genuine dialogue in the synodal journey.
