Abstract
This paper examines an important aspect to which the Pope dedicates the entire Chapter 6 of this landmark document: the formation of an authentic ecological spirituality and pedagogy to address the current global crisis. Unfortunately, thischapter is frequently neglected in discussions, perhaps not only because of its placement towards the end of the encyclical, but also because spirituality and pedagogy are often viewed as the exclusive realm of a few experts, resulting in a certain reticence to tackle them. Hence, this paper develops the notion of creatio continua as a practical summons to participate in the missio Dei. It then explores how this can be translated into an ecological spirituality and pedagogy using as framework the concept of transformative learning as expounded by Hathaway and Boff.
