Abstract

The essay reflects on the state of Philippine Studies as a field of research in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Divided into two parts; the essay first revisits the making of a book about the origins of Philippine Studies. Second; it explores the challenges that Philippine Studies confronts today. In doing so; the essay provides a brief mapping of the historical questions that shape the field and the limits that hobble its development beyond the pandemic.
