Abstract
In response to Ateneo CORD's need for a structured program to address employee stress and enhance well-being, this project aimed to materialize Ryan Ong’s training plan for a Mindfulness-Based Stress Management Intervention and take a crucial step toward implementation. The goal is to provide CORD’s workforce with a strong foundation in mindfulness principles, practical skills to manage and reduce stress, improve focus, and incorporate mindful breaks into their work week. The development of the materials was grounded in key psychological concepts, including Cognitive Load Theory, ensuring that exercises are structured to be manageable and progressively challenging. The concept of outcome expectancy was integrated to strengthen participants' belief in the benefits of mindfulness, while self-efficacy was a guiding principle in designing activities that promote confidence in applying mindfulness techniques. These frameworks shaped the content, ensuring participants can not only learn but sustain mindfulness practices. Following a thorough review by an expert panel, the materials were refined for optimal effectiveness. This project lays the groundwork for successful program implementation, ultimately aiming to improve the overall well-being of CORD employees.
