Abstract

This article traces the role of pastoral workers/community organizers in the Basic Ecclesial Communities of the Diocese of Boac. It argues that the community organizing component; mostly handled by women lay pastoral workers; has become indispensable to BEC building. It acknowledges the role of women pastoral workers in community building inasmuch as community building has brought about shifts in the role of women in society.
