Perspectives in the Arts and Humanities Asia
Abstract
Excerpt: A characteristic of the lyric poem is that it turns the personal and the subjective into something potentially universal or at least objective. This sense of the lyric is clearly the project of Mikael Co’s What Passes for Answers, his first collection of poetry. The lyric’s potential to be objective, however, is not actualized here, so that the “answers” are wanting.
