Abstract

This article explores the theological convergence between Catholic and Muslim beliefs regarding Mary, focusing on the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. It examines how early Christian prayers and Islamic scriptures highlight Mary’s purity and her role as a bridge in interfaith dialogues. The study underscores the significance of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception in the Catholic tradition and its potential to enhance Muslim-Catholic relations in Southeast Asia. By analyzing theological texts, the article reveals shared spiritual themes and the mutual reverence for Maryam (Mary) in both religions, promoting deeper interreligious understanding and respect.
