Abstract

In a contemporary landscape increasingly defined by rampant individualism and a subsequent decline in social cohesion, this paper offers a compelling Confucian alternative to this self-centric ethos. By examining the Dizigui—a classical pedagogical poem centered on filial piety and ethical conduct—Bresciani highlights its successful implementation in Taiwan and China as a practical instrument for values education. Ultimately, the essay argues that the Dizigui serves as a vital remedy for modern social fragmentation, providing a structured framework for cultivating respect, social responsibility, and communal loyalty among younger generations.
