Abstract
Many clergy, consecrated persons, and religious educators today are searching for an effective pedagogy to inculcate the Christian faith. Addressing this need, this essay highlights the central role of narrating salvation history within a Catholic religious education curriculum. Taking cues from the Scriptures, Church Fathers, and modern theorists and practitioners of religious education, the author explores how a narrative-based approach can transform students. Ultimately, the study describes how educators can apply these narrative principles in practice to move from "story-telling" to active "story-making" in contemporary pedagogical practice.
