Abstract
This paper commemorates the 75th anniversary of Mystici Corporis Christi by presenting excerpts from the two-volume doctoral dissertation of R.P. Catalino G. Arévalo, S.J. (Pontifical Gregorian University, 1959). Focusing on the ecclesiology of Giovanni Perrone, Carlo Passaglia, and Clemens Schrader—prominent mid-19th- century theologians of the Roman College—the selected texts analyze key aspects of their theology regarding the Mystical Body of Christ. Despite the inherent limitations of these historical figures, the study argues that their contributions were of major importance. Ultimately, the paper demonstrates how their work laid the groundwork for the modern renewal of Mystical Body theology, earning them a secure place of honor in the history of ecclesiological restoration.
