Abstract
This paper analyzes the foundational role of mercy in Jesus’ public ministry and its critical implications for Christian mission. By examining Gospel narratives, the study illustrates how Christ's ministry was entirely permeated by acts of love. It aligns this scriptural foundation with modern ecclesial teaching, invoking St. John XXIII’s Vatican II vision of employing the "medicine of mercy" and Pope Francis’s call for the Church to credibly witness to mercy. Ultimately, the paper explores the intersection of justice and mercy, concluding that mercy does not oppose justice but serves as God’s transformative invitation for sinner conversion and renewal.
