Abstract

This study investigated the views and concerns of teachers in the implementation of the Online Project-Based Learning (OPBL) framework, an innovative teaching framework that was mandated by the academic institution in this case study, in teaching English language and literature. It utilized data that were collected from four teachers that are teaching Grades 7, 8, and 10 middle-grade students in a private school in Metro Manila. These data that were gathered through semi-structured interviews and narrative reports were analyzed through reflexive thematic analysis. The findings gathered from the themes provided insights about (a) the need for a standardized OPBL framework orientation and training for teachers and students; (b) the employment of virtual or online alternatives to some components in the PBL framework; and (c) the active support of administrators and policymakers in the implementation process.
