Abstract
India and the Philippines are currently at the forefront of economic development. Both countries are heavily influenced by Western management approaches (Neelankavil, Mathur, & Zhang, 2000). In particular, the British system of management has been the foundation of current Indian management style, while the Philippines have adopted management styles that have been originated from multinational companies that settled in the country after World War II (Tiglao, 1992). Such exposure also enabled India and the Philippines to learn and utilize English as a mode of communication for business transactions (Malhotra, Ulgado, Agarwal, Shainesh, & Lan, 2005).
