Low-Cost, Compact, Linear Optical Frequency Discriminator Filter with Bidirectional Capability for 5G/6G Application

Abstract
We propose a bidirectional frequency discriminator filter used in receiver module of microwave photonic link-based phase-modulated direct-detection system and architecture. It reduces component count by 50%, lowers footprint by 90%, and decreases cost by 50%.
