Abstract

This work discusses a procedure to generate a tiling 𝒯 of a 2-dimensional surface 𝑆 embedded in the Euclidean 3-space ℝ from a tiling 𝒯 of the Euclidean plane ℝ. We employ the computer algebra system Mathematica to generate 3D graphical images of 𝒯 and 𝒯 and render animations which create the effect of 𝒯 morphing into 𝒯 .
