Abstract

Excerpt: This work is an interesting and engaging cross between intellectual history and political treatise. Primarily focusing on four Philippine figures during the twentieth century (Camilo Osias, Salvador Araneta, Carlos P. Romulo, and Salvador P. Lopez), Lisandro Claudio presents an impassioned, incisive, and consistent argumentation for a “re-invented” form of progressive liberalism.
