Abstract

Four iridoids--2'-p-hydroxybenzoyl mussaenosidic acid, 6'-p-hydroxybenzoyl mussaenosidic acid, agnuside and Lagundinin--were identified in the pharmacologically-active fraction of the leaves of Vitex negundo L. The data obtained from 2'-p-hydroxybenzoyl mussaenosidic acid modified a previous assignment while lagundinin is a newly identified iridoid.
